Who Was India's First Test Captain?

Colonel Cottari Kanakaiya Nayudu or C.K Nayudu, became India's First Test Captain when he led his team to field against England on June 25, 1932. On this day India played its First Test Match.

C.K. Nayudu, born on October 31, 1895, at Nagpur, captained India in 4 Test Matches between 1932 and 1934.  In a career that spanned 7 Test Matches, C.K. Nayudu scored 350 runs at an average of 25.00 and took 9 wickets. His highest test score was 81.

C.K. Nayudu left us for his heavenly abode on 14th of November, 1967 at the age of 72 years.
